Intro |
Never really had a habit in keeping too many tracks of what I've been doing. |
But I suppose if I start writing up stuff I've been doing, it'll help to complete this portfo/show-reel thing, at least I won't need to do the later catching up's. |
So for the moment, these pages will include some info on the songs / arrangements / remixes / productions / projects that I have worked on during the year 2010. |

Freelance Musician/Arranger/Producer/Programmer... |
We've moved aroom studio to a new location (on the same street, tho) at the end of 2009. 2010 is probably another year full of production works... |

Third Mr. CD...
Record company asked for a "2+7+1" format. They wanted at least 2 new songs for a new CD release before the first Mr. concert at the HK Coliseum, and they wanted to include the mandarin version of "If I Am 如果我是陳奕迅". They suggested that we do 7 remixes for some of the selected Mr. songs. Remixes were handled by Gary Tong (2), Davy Chan (2), Dan F. (1) and C. Y. (2) So this is more like a New Songs + Remix EP. |

Got involved a
lot in this song, from recording, editing, sound designing, and some
programming too. It is really fun and enjoyable working with Mr. |
|
We've used the
Korg Wavedrum for some of the percussion/electronic drum sounds.
Note: The drums & wavedrum recording session was the last session at the old aroom studio. We moved aroom after this recording session. |

Remix for the song "Closer 感動". |
It's electronic - which might not be what people expected, more like the retro Synth Britannia styles. |
Changed the chords around and upped the tempo (to 126). It's not really 'dance' but I guess 'new romantics' (!) In a way it kind of created another atmosphere / another angle to the mood of the song. |

Had this electro clash
idea since Day1, so here it is, 'Everyone' in semi-retro electronic
style. Again, it was probably influenced by Synth Britannia a bit =) |
Tempo was speeded up to 155, to create more 'pressure' (!), lots of panning effects, delay FX and vocoder on the vocals. It actually took a long time to get everything in place. |
04. 搖擺 (Rock Hed Mix) |
Remixed by Dan F. (Disuye) |

Helped Alan with the demo for this song, then Gary Tong worked with Ronny to finalize the melody. D ASH, MJ and Ronny all wrote different lyrics but in the end they were combined into one. In the end, we all agreed on "The Most Important - is You". |
Drums were the 1st session recorded at the new aroom studio. |
More Coming Soon...
If major radio stations play music 24
hours a day (rather than having talk shows or game shows),
it would really help revive the music scene. Years ago, we hear songs on the
radio day & night,
like you'd hear 15 songs in every hour. Nowadays, they play only a few songs
within the hour.
The more people listen to songs, the more chance they like the songs,
or have the chance to pick up songs they not heard before,
which can lead to more CD sales, more support to artists and musicians.
Say MORE to music shows, not talk shows.
